A 60-year-old woman has admitted stealing more than £3,600 from the charity where she worked.

Jeanette Hotton stole the cash from Family Nursing & Home Care, the Magistrate’s Court heard yesterday.

On 13 March, it was noticed that a total of £3,685 was missing.

The court heard that Hotton was of previous good character, made a full admission of the theft, and had paid back the money in full.

Relief Magistrate David Cadin said the case fell just within the upper limit of the Magistrate Court’s jurisdiction.

He ordered a pre-sentence report and remanded Hotton in custody to reappear there for sentencing on 4 July.

Family Nursing & Home Care is a local charity that provides prenatal and parental care, and supports children, young people, families and other islanders who need healthcare or help in their homes.
