Bargain enthusiast Fiona Walker set up social media pages under the name ‘Upstylejersey24’ to showcase the interesting items she finds and to encourage islanders to do their own digging for treasure to support good causes.

This week, Fiona stumbled into a Celestron Nexstar computerised telescope in St Ouen’s Hospice Shop.

Pictured: The telescope is on sale for £650.

Fiona said: “They’re saying they may have found life on another planet…well, with this little gizmo from Hospice St Ouen, you may just be able to spot it from Jersey!”

The Celestron Nextstar can automatically track stars, moons and planets in the solar system.

If you’re an avid astronomer, you’ll know that Fiona’s find is a true bargain. Express found the same version for sale online for over £2,500.
