Luis Miguel Fernandes (25) appeared in the Royal Court on Friday accused of having presented three forged cheques of £1,769.86, £700 and £4,736.96 in November last year, as well as an additional charge of larceny.
He’ll now face a three-day jury trial in November.
Throughout, Mr Fernandes had appeared with the help of an interpreter. In granting him bail, Bailiff William Bailhache, who sat with Jurats Jerry Ramsden and Mike Liston MBE, told Mr Fernandes: “You might want to spend the next since months learning English too… It will be valuable for the future, whatever happens.”
