Two of the UK’s most exciting crime writers will headline a packed line-up for the Jersey Festival of Words this year.
Authors Mark Billingham and Peter James will take to the stage together at the Freedom Centre to open the September festival with a gallows humour-laden talk exploring the intricacies of their grisly craft.
The next night will see Patrick Gale – writer of Costa-shortlisted A Place Called Winter – in conversation with fellow author and festival patron Cathy Rentzenbrink.
Audiences are also in for a treat on Friday, too, with novelist Anne Stothard providing islanders a deep-dive into her new novel Follow Her.

The book calls on Ms Stothard’s experience as a telephone psychic, so expect a left-field conversation exploring all things supernatural and uncanny.
Over 90 events are booked in total, with the festival taking place across the Freedom Centre, Arts Centre, Jersey Library, Capital House, 16 New Street, Millennium Park and other venues.
Now in its eleventh year, the festival is well-regarded as one of the UK’s foremost destinations for literary exploration.
