Birmingham Airport topped the list as the worst UK airport for flight delays for a second year in a row, with average delays of half-an-hour.
Meanwhile, East Midlands airport had the best performance on the list, with an average delay of 13 minutes.

Elsewhere, Doncaster Sheffield Airport – which closed last November – and Manchester Airport had the joint second poorest punctuality records in 2022, with an average delay of 29 minutes.
They were followed by Luton (28 minutes) and Gatwick (27 minutes) completing the top five most delayed UK airport of 2022.

In response to the CAA’s report, Ports of Jersey said: “We are pleased at the progress we are making with our airline partners to ensure flights leave on time, and understand how important this is to our passengers. There will always be some delays due to weather and technical issues, but we make every effort to keep them to a minimum.
“We update our navigation systems regularly to maintain a reliable ground-based service, and now both easyJet and B.A. base an aircraft in Jersey overnight, which improves resilience.
“Both the airport and harbour require continual capital investment to remain safe and to meet changing technical and community requirements. The first planning application for the Harbour Master Plan is currently being considered, and a plan for the airport will be ready for publication later this year.”
