Local charities with a focus on diversity and inclusion are being invited to apply to benefit from an annual swimming fundraiser which raised over £90,000 last year.

The 54th Lions Swimarathon is set to take place from 25 to 29 March 2026 at Les Quennevais Sports Centre.

The Lions Club of Jersey said the annual event had raised almost £4m since it started in 1972, with thousands of islanders taking part each year.

The theme for the 2026 event is diversity and inclusion.

Committee chairman Lion Chris Palmer said: “We have already received a number of applications but we have had few so far from smaller local charities.

“And we welcome applications from those charities where even just a few hundred pounds will make a significant difference, and provided they support our theme of ‘diversity and inclusion’ in the community they will be considered.

“We know that many of the smaller charities are finding fundraising difficult and we want to do our best to help.”

Local registered charities that wish to apply to be a beneficiary for the 2026 Lions Swimarathon should initially contact administrator@lionsswimarathon.org before Wednesday 31 December.
