At home, work or school, Durrell wants everyone to come up with their own take on ‘wild’ and take part in an “animal-inspired” fundraising activity of their choice.
It could be wearing an animal fancy dress, baking jungle-themed cakes or working out “wild”.
And for those in need of further inspiration, Durrell has even more ideas: swimming like an otter, a chin-up challenge, a barefoot stroll, a sponsored yoga class or a karaoke competition.
“Just remember to have fun and raise funds wildly for Durrell,” the team encouraged.
Local schools and businesses are also taking part, including St. Christopher’s School who raised £735 through a ‘Go Bananas Day’.
To make the occasion, children who are dressed up in wild or animal themed outfits will be allowed in for free at the zoo today.
Individuals who are not able to take part are invited to donate money to help Durrell achieve its mission of a wilder, healthier, more colourful world.
