Following the overwhelming response to their sea rescue clip yesterday on social media, the Fire Service have posted a new clip to demonstrate the extreme conditions faced at Le Hocq in St Clement.
The video shows two members of the Fire Service being thrown out of their vessel, with one crew member managing to hold onto the side of the boat and the other having to be picked up out of the water by his team before the attempted rescue was continued.
The post reads: “We’ve had such a response to our previous clip surrounding the launch of our rescue boat during the tragic loss of life at sea last weekend that we thought it worth showing you more.
“This latest clip shows the extreme conditions faced where a member of the Fire Crew gets thrown from the boat.” The post then goes onto read: “Respect the Sea…..we do!”
Ms Godfray, who would have celebrated her 32nd birthday this week, died after swimming in atrocious conditions on Saturday evening, with winds of up to 40mph. Five adults and a child died in the UK that weekend in separate sea tragedies.
