The popular race, which sees islanders take to the roads of Trinity, will this year going plastic-free in line with the Zoo’s existing commitment to reduce its packaging and waste. Since 2017, they have removed plastic water bottles from their premises – and this year’s race will be no exception.

Instead, runners in the 6km or 13km races will be able to rehydrate en route with paper cups filled from bowsers donated by Jersey Water.

The annual fun run will start and finishes at Jersey Zoo and will be raising funds to support the zoo’s newly-opened butterfly and tortoise exhibit.

It’s for that reason runners are being invited to don their brightest hues, with extra kudos for those who don butterfly wings. The best dressed runner will receive a special prize.
