Later this year the Department of Infrastructure plan to ‘plug’ the English Harbour gap by widening the current road and creating a 1.8m dedicated pavement/cycleway.
But, because the road is narrower at the French Harbour the problem isn’t as easy to solve. It’s also complicated because the sea wall is a listed structure.

The scheme the department has come up with is an elevated boardwalk that will be flush with the road and ‘hang over’ the slipway that gives access to the harbour.
The Department for Infrastructure are holding a drop in session at the slipway between 16:00 and 18:00 on Wednesday 1 March to gather the public’s views on the proposals.
