A Jersey influencer has racked up almost a million views on a video of her sampling a leftover slice of popstar Charli XCX’s wedding cake.
The Brat singer married fiancé and The 1975 drummer George Daniel at Hackney Town Hall on Saturday afternoon – less than a month after they both performed separate headline slots at Glastonbury Festival.
Their wedding cake had two tiers, decorated with grapes and figs, and was from Violet Cakes in London.
The Jersey influencer – who posts sustainable fashion content on social media under the alias ‘daughter of a hoarder‘ – managed to get hold of the leftover cake.
In a post on TikTok, she explained that her friend works in the restaurant where the famous couple had their wedding reception – and they had some uneaten cake left.
“I’m not a crazy stalker, I promise,” she joked.
@daughterofahoarder Replying to @ty 🥒 ok so you won’t be seeing a food review channel from me any time soon but here’s the taste test #charlixcx #georgedaniel ♬ original sound – daughter of a hoarder
She added: “I obviously told my girl group chat what I was up to, and sent pictures.
“And they were like, ‘you should sell a slice’, but that feels wrong.”
The influencer determined that the vanilla-flavoured cake was “pretty good”, but added: “You won’t be seeing a food review channel from me any time soon.”
