Fortunately, the slippery fellow was found to be “in good health” and Guernsey’s Animals’ Shelter – the GSPCA – were able to track down and reunite the snake with its owner the very same day.
Sharing the story yesterday,GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne noted: “Thankfully with the warm weather it would have certainly helped keep the corn snake in good condition.”
It’s not the first time the GSPCA has had to deal with a snake in an unusual spot.

“It is rare a day goes by that we don’t help a stray or indeed many strays but only a few snakes each year… It is the first stray snake from a Chinese, although one did get rescued from the Nautique a few years ago.”
