The ceremony was attended by Jersey’s leading dignatories including the Lieutenant Governor, Bailiff William Bailhache, Chief Minister Ian Gorst and St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft.

The introduction was given by Lt Col Daniels and the prayers and dedication by the Vice Dean of Jersey Canon Geoff Houghton.

Crosses were placed in the Field of Remembrance, beneath the Cenotaph, by dignatories and members of the public.

Field of Remembrance

The Field of Remembrance was started 1928 by Major George Howson MC, the founder of the Royal British Legion Poppy factory.

Lt Col Daniels said: “We plant our crosses to remember the men and women of all the services, lost in numerous and ongoing conflicts, past and present. Also to remember family members, friends and colleagues, who for many years served loyally. We will remember them.”
