A Catholic priest convicted of sexual abusing a child to satisfy his “foot fetish” will be sentenced for his crimes in June.
Piotr Glas appeared in the Royal Court via video link from HMP La Moye yesterday to hear his sentencing date.
The 61-year-old was found guilty of three counts of committing gross indecency against his victim following a seven-day trial in the Royal Court.
On multiple occasions, Glas held his face against the child’s feet while masturbating, and on one occasion play-wrestled the child to the ground until their face was in his crotch.
The court heard the “manipulative” priest used his position of authority as a member of the Catholic clergy to groom his victim before going on to sexually abuse them.
Glas will be sentenced by the Superior Number of the court – which convenes for the most serious cases – on 2 June.
He will remain in custody until then.
