A former President of the Chamber of Commerce is returning to the role in an interim capacity after the previous incumbent stepped down in a row over a political donation.
The business organisation confirmed in a statement this afternoon that Eliot Lincoln had been named Interim President following its annual general meeting.
It comes after Lee Madden confirmed he would be departing the role shortly before the election following scrutiny over the private contribution to Value Jersey around 18 months ago – prior to his appointment as President of Chamber and before the movement was formally established.
While donation was declared, but Mr Madden said it had led to a “loss of confidence in my position as President”.
At the AGM, Chamber recorded its thanks for Mr Madden’s “dedication and hard work”.
His interim successor, Eliot Lincoln, served as Vice President and then President between 2015 and 2019.
A previous winner of Director of the Year at the Jersey IoD Awards, Mr Lincoln is a director of Helier Consulting, which provides director services and change management support to clients, helping them get the best from their technology and people while navigating complex change.
The AGM also saw Ferryspeed CEO and former Ports of Jersey Chief of Staff Darren Scott confirmed as Vice President.

Ms Reynard had previously been the Interim Chair of the Employment and Skills Committee and is the Group Human Resources Manager for Seymour Hotels. She is also an Ambassador for the Jersey Employment Trust.
