Islanders who are signed up to the ‘Love to Ride’ challenge and cycling into town on Wednesday morning will be able to get their ‘helmet hair’ fixed for free at a pop-up salon in the Royal Square.

‘Love to Ride’ is a year-round cycling programme allowing people to log their cycle journeys online and take part in numerous cycling based challenges to encourage environmentally-friendly travel.  

This week, islanders who are signed up to May’s ‘Bike Month Challenge’ will have access to a range of treatments offered by Highlands Hair and Beauty students. 

Between 07:30 and 10:00 on Wednesday 24 May, the students are offering a menu of treatments including blow dry or hair braiding to ensure cyclists are looking their best before heading in to the office.

The 20-minute slots will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

Additional services such as hand massages will also be available.
