A 36-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a reported “racially motivated” against two members of Jersey’s Muslim community.
Police confirmed yesterday that a 51-year-old man had been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct in relation to an incident outside the Jersey Islamic Centre on Aquila Road around 2pm on Friday.
Officers said that the man was due to appear in the Magistrate’s Court on 1 April.
In a further update this morning, they confirmed that a 36‑year‑old woman had been arrested.
“She remains in custody and is assisting officers with their enquiries,” the force said in a statement.
The force added that “reassurance patrols” will take place in the area for the remainder of Ramadan and that the Community Safety Team would remain on hand to support the Muslim community.
