Emergency services were out in force across St Helier yesterday morning as part of a planned training exercise to test their response to a terrorist attack.

Fire, police and ambulance crews took part in ‘Exercise Tempest’ at Fort Regent, a major incident drill designed to test how teams respond to a high-pressure scenario.

The exercise began at around 9am, with emergency vehicles travelling from La Collette into the town centre as crews worked through a simulated response.

The operation was routine and not linked to any specific threat, but was aimed at strengthening coordination and readiness across Jersey’s emergency services.
