The memories of islanders have been transformed into bespoke cocktails as part of an immersive mixology experience that opens to the public tonight.
‘Memory Bar’ by Society of Cocktails officially opens on Friday 21 November inside the private artist studio of renowned Jersey painter Jason Butler.
The event, which runs until Saturday 6 December, is an immersive storytelling experience that transforms a location normally closed to the public into an intimate theatrical environment.
This year’s experience was conceived and directed by Thomas Buckley, who aimed to explore the theme of lived recollection.
He explained: “Society of Cocktails is not a bar, it’s a story you drink your way through.
“Opening inside Jason’s studio means the space itself becomes folded into the ritual, with his working environment acting as a living character within the performance.”
Islanders were invited to “lend a memory” through one-to-one conversations in September, with shared stories ranging from life-changing milestones to everyday moments.
A curated selection of these recollections has been transformed into bespoke cocktails.
Audiences attending can expect a welcome drink on arrival and three original cocktails crafted based on the memories of islanders.
Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.
