The Ship’s Company will also participate in various community activities, including Sea Cadet visits, STEM outreach and charity events.
A “significant occasion”
In a statement, the Royal Navy described the visit as a “significant occasion”, intended to “strengthen close ties with the local community” and to “showcase the Royal Navy’s commitment to maritime security”.

HMS Iron Duke has a storied history that includes active service in the Gulf and off the coast of Libya, as well as successful world-wide anti-drug smuggling operations.
Last year the ship underwent an extensive refit to enhance its operational capabilities and later hosted a state visit in Bordeaux to highlight defence ties between France and the UK.

Commander David Armstrong, the frigate’s Commanding Officer, said: “We are delighted to bring HMS Iron Duke to Jersey – a cherished affiliation.
He continued: “The visit is an excellent opportunity for us to engage with the local community, demonstrate our capabilities and strengthen the bond between the Royal Navy and the people of Jersey.
“We look forward to a memorable and rewarding visit.”

The Royal Navy’s ties to Jersey are already bolstered by the current Lieutenant-Governor, Vice-Admiral Jerry Kyd, who served for 37 years – including time as the most senior Warfare Officer and second in command to the First Sea Lord – before becoming the King’s representative in the island.
While HMS Iron Duke was in refit in 2022, a contingent of her sailors proudly acted as the Ceremonial Guard to celebrate the Lieutenant Governors’ appointment that year.
