Jersey has been placed under a red wind warning this afternoon, with forecasters predicting gales and gusts reaching up to 65 knots.
The Met Office said force seven south-easterly gales veering west to south-west up to severe force nine were expected from mid-afternoon.

When a weather warning is labelled red, the Met Office advises that Islanders avoid outdoor activity and follow advice from authorities.
The warning was published just before 9am this morning, with high winds expected to arrive within six to 12 hours from the time of issue.
