The two-minute silence was impeccably held and prayers and hymns were given in honour of the fallen. Poppy wreaths were laid at the Garden of Remembrance underneath the Cenotaph.
The Dean of Jersey, the Very Reverend Bob Key led the service, which included words of gratitude for the work of the Lieutenant Governor, General Sir John McColl and Lady McColl, for whom this was their last Remembrance Day service, as they will shortly be coming to the end of their five year term. Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton takes over.
The States were represented by the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, and the Parish by the Constable, Simon Crowcroft.
The parade include representatives of all the armed services, as well as school cadet sections, the ATC, St John Ambulance, the States Police, the Fire Service, the RNLI, the Scouts, Guides and many others. It finished with a motorcycle ‘ride-out.’
