Police are seeking witnesses to incidents of disorderly behaviour and indecent exposure believed to have involved the same man, following reports that he urinated in the street and – on a separate occasion two weeks later – exposed himself.

The latter incident is said to have taken place on Friday 31 October at around 15:00, by Reids Pharmacy on Val Plaisant near the junction with New Street and Devonshire Place.

In an appeal for information, the force stated: “It is expected due to the time of the offence that there was likely to be other members of public or vehicles passing that may have seen the male exposing himself.”

A police spokesperson said that the suspect is believed to be the same individual reportedly involved in another incident said to have taken place on 17 October, at around 14:50 in the area of Charing Cross, which resulted in a man being arrested.

The force had received a report of a man standing with his back to the wall, outside the Co-op, urinating in the street.

“On both occasions the areas where the offences have occurred would have been heavily populated with people due to the times they have happened,” the police spokesperson said.

The witness appeal regarding the first incident described the man as being in his late 50s, 5’8” tall with a “small build” and “a long grey beard”.

It also said he was wearing a blue zip hoodie, with dark trousers and a Marvel baseball cap – and that he had a walking stroller with him.

Anyone with information is being asked to phone the police on 612612 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
