Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash in St Brelade which claimed the life of a 78-year-old woman on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to Route des Genêts at around 14:50 on Sunday following a reported collision involving two vehicles.
States of Jersey Police confirmed on Monday that the woman, who was driving one of the vehicles, later died in hospital.
Specialist officers are supporting her family.
A police spokesperson said: “The States of Jersey Police can confirm that a 78-year-old driver involved in a road traffic collision in St Brelade on Sunday afternoon has sadly died in hospital.
“Specialist officers are supporting the family of the deceased, and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”
The collision led to the closure of Route des Genêts between Mont Sohier and Petite Route des Mielles while emergency services attended the scene.
The road reopened after 8pm.
Police said investigations into the circumstances of the collision are “ongoing”.
