A 52-year-old chief financial officer last night completed a gruelling charity fundraiser which saw him undertake seven Ironman triathlons in seven days.

Peter Wright swam a total of 16.8 miles, cycled 784 miles, and ran seven marathons over the week-long period.

His extreme fundraising challenge, dubbed ‘Island Man’, has raised more than £11,600 for CLIC Sargent Jersey, Kezia’s Fund, Lily McGarry’s Fund and The LouLou Race Foundation.

Mr Wright was based at the Radisson Hotel for the duration of the challenge to try and maximise sleep and rest time.

He was cheered over the finish line by friends, family members and representatives from the four charities he raised money for.
