The Jersey Consumer Council is particularly interested to hear from islanders in their 20s and 30s as this group is “currently under-represented in the organisation”.

In addition, the council is seeking to appoint a separate team of volunteer data researchers to help further expand the body’s online price comparison service.

Both volunteer roles are open to islanders with a variety of skills, including secretarial, digital, administrative, and social media.

JCC Chair, Carl Walker said: “As the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite hard, we want to increase our membership so that we can help as many islanders as possible.

“From price checking and researching products to feeding back on new Government policy and helping consumers with everyday issues, a role on our Council is as varied as it is rewarding.”

Applicants need to include a covering letter explaining a little about themselves and why they wish to join the JCC, a brief CV, and answer some consumer-related questions.
