He added that he believes there is a “gap in the market” for a 24/7 service in Jersey, as the island doesn’t have many shops open late.

Mr Ribeiro said that he liked the “self-service element” of the Japanese vending machines, and the 24/7 Vend Store in Jersey will operate in a similar way.
There will be no staff members in the shop, but there will be CCTV which will be remotely monitored by staff members.
“This improves working conditions for staff as it means they don’t have to sit in the shop,” explained Mr Ribeiro.
He added that Jersey’s low crime rate was a “supporting factor” in his decision to open a 24/7 Vend Store on the island.
The 24/7 Vend Store founder said that the vending machines used in the store will be “different to the norm”, describing them as “hi-tech” and “intelligent”.
Mr Ribeiro explained that the machines have a multi-buy options, which “provides convenience”.

As for the products, Mr Ribeiro said that there will be a “mix and match” selection available, including hot drinks, Japanese and American snacks, noodles, as well as non-food items such as deodorant.
“It’s like a supermarket with a bit of a twist,” he explained. “That’s the best way I can describe the selection [of products].”
Mr Ribeiro also hopes to partner with small local businesses in the future to sell their items in vending machines to help “provide exposure” to those just starting out.
The founded explained that the first 24/7 Vend Store – set to open on 1 December – will be “a bit of a trial”.
“It’s a very big investment,” he admitted. “So we’ll monitor its progress and, if it all goes well, then we’re hoping to open two more locations later.”
