An assistant headteacher at Victoria College is set to move to Alderney to take charge of the island’s only school.
Anthony Griffin will replace Wendy Wilson as headteacher of St Anne’s School from September.
Mr Griffin moved to Jersey in 2018. He currently works at Victoria College as an English teacher and an assistant headteacher with responsibility for the lower school and the “supercurriculum”.
“I am honoured to have been given the opportunity to serve at St Anne’s School,” he said.
“I am very excited to get started and to play my part in ensuring the children of Alderney receive the education they deserve.
“It is a very special school, and I’m delighted to join the community.”

Mr Griffin studied undergraduate history and English, before completing his PGCE at the University of Aberystwyth in Wales.
He has worked in a range of roles across different schools, including teaching abroad in South Korea and Japan.
St Anne’s School board chair Ian Carter said: “The Governing Body is delighted at the appointment of Anthony Griffin as the next Headteacher of St Anne’s School.
“Anthony brings a rare blend of strategic clarity, deep pastoral commitment, and a wholehearted belief in the potential of every child on Alderney.
“His leadership will strengthen the school’s ambitions, its community partnerships, and its culture of care.
“We look forward to working closely with him as St Anne’s enters this exciting new chapter.”
Guernsey director of education Nick Hynes added: “We are delighted to appoint Anthony as headteacher of St Anne’s School.
“We look forward to working closely with him from September and are confident that the wealth of leadership and pastoral experience he brings will be of great benefit to learners and staff in the island.”
