The island welcomed its first New Year’s Day baby in five years last week.
Walter Wojcik was born at 10.42am on 1 January 2026 at the General Hospital.
He arrived weighing 6lb 6oz.
First-time parents Edyta Czarny and Krzysztof Wojcik said they are “smitten” with their son.
Walter is the first New Year’s Day baby to have been born in Jersey in five years.
On 1 January 2020, seven babies – three girls and four boys – entered the world at the maternity unit.
Edyta and Krzysztof told Express they are looking forward to introducing their son to his wider Polish family very soon.
