Field recordings, 3D plant scans, and soundscapes captured across two nature sites in Jersey have been transformed into immersive artworks.
The new multi-sensory installation ‘Photo // Synthesis‘ will be on display at ArtHouse Jersey at Capital House across the weekend of Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 October.
Jersey composer Jack Chown (Kiskadee) and digital artist Neal Coghlan (Studio Aszyk) developed the project in partnership with Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and the National Trust for Jersey.

The installation draws from field recordings, 3D plant scans, and soundscapes captured at Durrell’s organic farm and the nature reserve at St Ouen’s pond.
These raw materials have been transformed into immersive, interactive artworks that preserve fleeting encounters with the natural world that will transform the gallery space.
The artists said: “Every plant scan, every recorded texture is a fragment of time. We treat them as collaborators, not just raw material.
“Crafting the work is our way of giving these moments permanence, and offering audiences a chance to reflect on their own relationship with the natural world.”
Visitors will encounter interactive visuals, layered sound compositions, and evolving digital environments.
Alongside the installation, audiences can attend a special ticketed performance on Saturday 4 October at 19:00 when Jack will present new work from his forthcoming second album.
