An incident of vandalism at the Lido is being investigated, States police have confirmed amid ongoing efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour in the area.
A spokesperson for the force encouraged islanders to report “any suspicious activity”.
Concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour, including a number of issues involving children, have been cited during Havre des Pas Improvement Group meetings on multiple occasions in the past few years.
Unfortunately much of it does happen around the Lido, but there is a notable fall in this when the area is patrolled by the police and when other residents are present
Deputy Sam Mézec
Last summer, an incident involving “one juvenile female assaulting another” at the site was raised with the police after a video was circulated on social media.

More recently, a post on the Lido Steering Group Facebook page (pictured left) documented vandalism in the public toilets.
A spokesperson for the States police said: “We continue to monitor anti-social behaviour and ask the public to report any suspicious activity to us.
“SOJP are investigating the incident.
“Any witnesses to this incident can call us on 612612 and reference M00697/2026.”
Deputy Sam Mézec told Express: “The St Helier South Deputies facilitate a monthly meeting for Havre des Pas residents, where representatives from the police frequently attend and work with residents to try to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime in the area.”
Deputy Mézec continued: “Unfortunately much of it does happen around the Lido, but there is a notable fall in this when the area is patrolled by the police and when other residents are present.
“We have had problems in the past when the CCTV hasn’t been working.”
Deputy Mézec said he would “strongly encourage” residents to report incidents they witness to the police “and try to capture it on video on their phones”.
“There will be another Havre des Pas residents meeting at 6pm on Thursday 12 February and the Jersey Cheshire Homes café at Edinburgh House,” he added.
