After more than three decades in policing, Detective Superintendent Alison Fossey has officially retired – but her impact will be felt for years to come.
Det Supt Fossey took a leading role in the high-profile investigation into historical child abuse at Haut de la Garenne, and she set up victim support services such as Victims First and the Sexual Assault Referral Centre.
She sat down with Express to talk about her career – from starting out in the “Trainspotting” Scotland of the 1990s, to leading Jersey’s most sensitive abuse investigations, and even training at the FBI’s Quantico Academy.
