The event was hosted by REORG, a charity that supports frontline military and emergency personnel. Its mission is to teach those who have serious, life-altering injuries or who are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and depression, the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

The increasingly popular martial art strengthens both mind and body.

Hollywood star Tom Hardy is an ambassador for the charity, who was competing alongside Jersey competitors.

Head Coach of the Brazilian Power Team, Vladimiro Afonso, said: “I’m very happy and proud for gathering this squad” and representing Jersey abroad is “already a win” for the local Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community.

The Brazilian Power Team have resumed training on island and aim to sustain this winning streak. Their next challenge will be a local event, ‘Spud Grappling Jersey’s Autumn Open’, which will be held at Strive later in the year.
