A fundraiser which saw islanders “dance to defeat” cancer has raised over £400 for two charities.
The event was organised by Declan Evans in memory of his friend Callum McNulty, who died of bone cancer in 2022.
Callum was just 18 years old at the time.
Declan said: “I decided to an event as I love music, and I know Callum loved going out clubbing whilst he could.
“I remember being in Havana nightclub with him, it was amazing, and he loved it.

“Remembering all these times made me know that I’m making something for him, and that is where Callum’s legacy was born.”
The event took place at the Watersplash on Friday 30 May.
The money raised is due to be split between the Bone Cancer Research Trust, in memory of Callum, and Jersey Brain Tumour Charity, which was chosen by terminal cancer patient Sophie Reid.
Sophie also made her DJ debut at the event with help and guidance from Declan.
Declan said: The event itself was amazing, from start to finish it was amazing.
“Sophie was nervous, as was I, but it was amazing and we all loved every second.
“The turnout was amazing and it was a great atmosphere.”
