Royal Court

David Moody (59) appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday to face a total of 20 charges – including two counts of rape, sodomy and several charges of sexual penetration without consent – involving a female named only as ‘Miss X’.

Mr Moody, who was dressed in a jacket and tie, spoke only to confirm his name and date-of-birth in court, and to confirm at the end of the hearing to acknowledge the directions given by Assistant Magistrate Peter Harris.

Mr Harris said that the alleged offences were too serious to be considered by the lower court.

He ordered that Mr Moody appear before the Royal Court on 2 June.

He has been granted conditional bail until that date.
