Charged with eight counts, Adrian Florinel Dumitrache has pleaded ‘guilty’ to all of the offences which took place between 8 and 25 December last year.

He appeared in the Royal Court last week where he admitted four counts of sexual touching without consent; grave and criminal assault; committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence; common assault; and acting in a manner likely to cause an outrage of public decency.

Dumitrache was arrested on New Years’ Day after a week-long manhunt conducted by Jersey Police after reports came in claiming a cyclist was indecently assaulting women on Christmas morning.

The 31-year-old has been remanded in custody until he is sentenced on 27 May.

Posting about the hearing, Jersey Police reminded members of the public: “Throughout this difficult period, we remain committed to investigating serious offences such as this. To report a crime ring us on [01534] 612612, or 999 in an emergency.”

Islanders can also report crimes anonymously through Crimestoppers either on 0800 555 111 or via their online form.
