Police are appealing for information after a 61-year-old man was injured in an alleged assault involving a group of youths shortly after midnight on Saturday.
The incident is alleged to have taken place in Library Place between 12.40am and 12.55am on Saturday 15 August.
Police said the man is believed to have walked from the direction of Conway Street before an incident occurred involving a group of youths thought to be aged between 16 and 20.
He then ran towards NatWest Bank on Library Place before continuing down Broad Street, according to officers.
The man, who was wearing a white shirt, beige linen trousers and a black shoulder-strap bag, sustained injuries and attended hospital.
Police said the parties involved are not believed to have known each other.
