A 51-year-old man has been jailed for 13 years after being found guilty of a series of sexual offences spanning more than two decades.
Jose Rodrigues Camacho was found guilty of six counts of rape and one indecent assault following a seven-day trial at the Royal Court at the end of November.
The offences were reported to police in April 2023, when the victim disclosed several sexual assaults that took place over a 21-year period.
Camacho was sentenced today in the Royal Court.
Detective Constable Carla Garnier, the officer in charge of the case, said: “The States of Jersey Police would like to commend the victim and witnesses in this case, for both coming forward and having the courage to stand up in court and give their evidence.
“We work with our partner agencies to support the victims of these crimes and seek to bring perpetrators to justice.”
