The display of “road rage” – as Police have dubbed the incident – took place on Tuesday around 11:10 on St. John’s Road, prior to the pet shop and after the Tower Road turning.

The black Audi reportedly followed the van from the Esplanade all the way up St. John’s Road, where it overtook the white van then suddenly stopped in front of it.

Having blocked the van, the car driver then exited his vehicle, approaching the van.

He was then said to have threatened the van driver, threatening him, hurling abusive language and using “rude gestures” towards him, before getting in his vehicle and driving away.

Police are now asking for help from the public in identifying the man.

“The suspect is described as being approximately 5’8 to 5’10, with a well-trimmed beard, short, black hair and he has tattoos along the left side of his neck. He was wearing black joggers, a black hoodie and a black baseball cap worn backwards,” they said.
