Sam Phillips appeared in the Royal Court on Friday to enter his plea.
He was remanded on bail until his trial, which is scheduled to take place on 25 August.
As part of his bail conditions, Mr Phillips was allowed to return to his native Yorkshire until 11 August, and was excused attendance from a pre-trial hearing on 15 June.
He appeared in the Royal Court before Commissioner Julian Clyde-Smith.
