A Jersey songwriter and piano-vocalist is all set to bring his production to a popular town venue this weekend, after it sold out for three nights in Bristol.

Ant Noel will perform at The Sundown this weekend to raise money for a special cause.

His production ‘Midnight Joanna’ will feature a 10-strong band of local professional musicians bringing together blues, ballads, rock ‘n’ roll and jazz.

Midnight Joanna, supported by ArtHouse Jersey and Creative Island Partnership, will tell the tales of “colourful” characters, set within a fictional, late-night piano bar.

Profits made on the night will go towards Healing Waves, a local charity who run ocean therapy sessions for Islanders.

Mr Noel said that he chose Healing Waves because his eight-year-old son, who has autism, benefits “greatly” from the charity, taking part in one-to-one sessions each year for the last few summers.

He told Express: “I have seen first-hand how these have given Jasper more confidence in the sea and a fantastic sense of fun, freedom and pure mindfulness which is great for his mental health.

“The whole team of professionals and volunteers at Healing Waves are truly incredible and I cannot speak highly enough about them and the work they do helping people with disabilities.”

The show took Mr Noel five years to write and is semi-autobiographical – with lots of the pub-based characters featured being based on people he has met during his career as a piano-vocalist.

All 17 songs included in the show describe a different featured character.

The show had its first run in October 2024 as it sold out three nights at the Ommaroo. It then made its UK debut in May 2026 with two successful nights in Bristol.

The performance starts from 7pm at The Sundown on Wharf Street and general admissions are £22, however other tickets are available with meals included for £45.

Doors open from 6pm.
