The property developers had already had plans approved back in 2011 for a 153-home development but have now got the go-ahead to build 57 one-bedroom, 118 two-bedroom and four three-bedroom homes with underground parking for 203 cars.
The Metropole was the German Commander’s office during the Occupation and the 19th century property was once listed as a Building of Local Interest (BLI).
