An Islander has raised £1,360 for charity after taking on an epic 100km running challenge from London to Brighton.

Josh Cullinan was one of around 2,000 participants who ran from Richmond-Upon-Thames to Brighton Beach in May.

It took him just over 15 hours to complete the 100km ultra-marathon.

Funds raised by Josh through the event will be donated to Youthful Minds, part of Mind Jersey which works to support young people’s mental health in Jersey.

Josh said: “I chose to undertake this challenge because I’m drawn to things that really push me out of my comfort zone – and this certainly did.

“It required a lot of discipline and commitment, and the route was both a physical and mental challenge – but my training really helped get me through and the atmosphere all the way along the route was incredible.

“Every step has been worth it.”

He added: “Of course, raising such a lot of money for Youthful Minds is fantastic too.

“I’m really grateful to everyone who has donated and supported me in this challenge and in doing so is also supporting the amazing work of the team at Youthful Minds.”

Mind Jersey service manager Amy Hall said: “A big thanks to Josh, who has pushed himself to the limit for this challenge, and to all those who donated to the cause.

“Their contribution will make a significant difference to us, as we continue to raise awareness around such an important issue for the Island.”
