Posting on the Jersey Facebook Group, ‘Jersey Ask! Advise! Advertise!’, Iain Samson said: “What clownfish decided to yellow line the brand new road surface in St Clement this morning?”
“No on street parking was left and tonight they were sand blasting the lines off.”

Commenters on the post shared the frustration, with Jay Le Sech decrying “the state of the new road” and remarking on the “drip marks all over the shot!”
Another commenter, Sean McDonald, suggested there could have been another way, adding: “Surely a bit of black paint over the areas where on-street parking is allowed would have sufficed and been a damn sight neater!”
After a request for comment from Express, the Government of Jersey said sorry for the error.
A spokesperson explained: “…GHE staff incorrectly marked yellow lines on a small section of La Grande Route de La Côte as a result of being provided with a drawing which contained an error.
“It was picked up shortly after the lines were marked and work to correct the error started yesterday afternoon, and is due to be completed by 17:00 today (Friday 28 August).
“St. Clement’s Parish Honorary Police were notified immediately to ensure that no residents were unfairly penalised because of the error, and we apologise to anyone who was inconvenienced.”
