Children and young people accessing mental health services will benefit from a more discreet location as the provision moves to a new home this weekend.
Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services will reopen at Bermuda House on Green Street on Monday 6 July.
The move from Liberté House is intended to improve the experience of patients and families, with the new building designed in response to feedback from children and young people, who identified privacy when attending appointments as a key priority.
Located next to Green Street car park, Bermuda House has been adapted specifically for CAMHS and features 17 spacious clinical rooms designed to provide a calm, confidential and therapeutic environment.
The main relocation will take place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July, with minimal disruption expected.
Neurodevelopmental assessment appointments on Monday 6 July will instead be held at the Enid Quenault Health and Wellbeing Centre at the former Les Quennevais School site for one day only, with affected families being contacted directly.
All services are due to resume from Bermuda House on Tuesday 7 July.
Staff were closely involved in designing the new environment, alongside inspectors from the Jersey Care Commission and the Children’s Commissioner, to ensure it meets both clinical and operational needs.
The move aims to provide CAMHS with a modern, fit-for-purpose base, strengthening the service’s ability to meet increasing demand while improving the experience for children, young people, families and staff.
