The Guernsey and Jersey Cricket Boards have announced Praxis IFM as their sponsor for the next two years.
Chris Minty, CEO of Jersey Cricket said: “Our players and clubs are looking forward to playing CI League cricket again and we are all grateful for the support offered by PraxisIFM which will make this possible. We look forward to some good inter-island cricket matches.”
Brian Morris, Executive Chairman of PraxisIFM Group in Jersey, said: “As a major employer in both Jersey and Guernsey with over 200 staff between the two offices, we are delighted to be able to provide vital sponsorship of the CI League for at least the next two seasons.
“We are very much aware of the cost of travelling between the two islands which can make inter-island competitions prohibitive for many sports, and we look forward to playing our part in making the return of the CI League a big success.”
The CI League will open for the 2017 season on the weekend of 24 June with the inter-island club fixtures all happening over the four successive weekends between 22 July and 12 August.
Commenting on the deal for Guernsey Cricket, CEO Mark Latter said: “To be able to attract a title sponsor of the profile of PraxIFM speaks volumes for the interest such cross water fixtures can create. We are very grateful to PraxIFM for their support and trust all involved will give them some great cricket to enjoy this summer.”
