An educational charity has launched its third story trail in a town park as part of its mission to foster a lifelong love of reading in young islanders.

Every Child Our Future unveiled a new story trail at Millennium Park last week as part of the Jersey Festival of Words.

The initiative, which is designed to inspire children to engage with books while enjoying the outdoors, will initially feature ‘Superworm‘ by Julia Donaldson.

Families will be able to follow the story page by page on permanent display boards installed along the park pathway,

Each story trail features a new book every few weeks to ensure islanders always have something fresh and engaging to experience.

Every Child Our Future programme manager Emma Firth said: “We’re thrilled to open the third Story Trail at Millennium Park during the Jersey Festival of Words.

“Using a much-loved story like Superworm in such a family-friendly space gives children a fun and memorable way to connect with books, while encouraging outdoor exploration and shared experiences.”

Jersey Festival of Words director Pippa Les Quesne added: “The Festival of Words is all about celebrating stories in every form.

“The story trail is a wonderful way of taking stories out of books and into the community, helping children and families enjoy literature in an interactive and playful way.”

The other two story trails are located in Howard Davis Park and Millbrook Park.
