Jersey Brain Tumour Charity Parkrun

This weekend’s parkrun Jersey at Les Quennevais will double as an awareness event for the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity.

Volunteers from the charity will be on site from 8am on Saturday 11 April, before the run at 9am.

Participants and visitors are invited to meet the team and learn more about the charity’s work, while taking part in the weekly community run.

Islanders can find out more about Parkrun and sign up here.

The Landscapes of Memory

A new exhibition by Fox Open Art Competition winner Robert Allen is on display at the Jersey Arts Centre until Saturday 2 May.

The Landscapes of Memory brings together a series of works exploring Jersey’s coastline, painted “en plein air” [outdoors] and shaped by the island’s shifting light, textures and geology.

The exhibition reflects Allen’s personal connection to place, with themes of memory, loss and renewal running through the paintings.

Moving between abstraction and figuration, the works present the coastline as both a physical boundary and a space of change.

The exhibition is on display in the Berni Gallery. You can find out more here.

Genuine Jersey Artisans’ Market

The Genuine Jersey Artisans’ Market will take place on Saturday 11 April from 9am to 3pm in St Aubin.

The market will be held every two weeks throughout the summer.

This weekend, it is based in and around St Brelade Parish Hall – with both indoor and outdoor stalls.

Visitors can browse a range of goods produced by Genuine Jersey members, including items that have been crafted, brewed, baked, grown or processed by the stall holders.

You can find out more about the market here.
