Dancers from Jersey’s national ballet company are due to step on stage at the Opera House this month for the very first time.

Ballet d’Jerri will perform at the newly refurbished theatre on Friday 24 October at 19:30, and Saturday 25 October at 14:30 and 19:30.

The dancers will showcase two pieces of choreography: ‘Footsteps‘ by by Garrett Smith, and ‘Sand and Their Castles‘ by Tess Voelker.

The first piece of dance is described as a “poetic meditation on the fleeting intersections that shape our lives”, whilst the second “captures the dizzying emotional logic of adolescence”.

The double-bill performance marks the company’s first public performance at the Opera House since it became Ballet d’Jèrri’s resident home.

Tickets are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis, with prices starting from £5 in a bid to “keep world-class contemporary dance accessible to everyone in Jersey”.

Tickets can be purchase online.
