Two men jailed for their part in a major drug smuggling operation have been ordered to pay back over £168,000 gained from their crimes.

Aaron Nursaw and Michael Quinn appeared in the Royal Court on Friday by video link from La Moye Prison.

They were both served confiscation orders – representing the amounts from which they are thought to have benefited through criminal activity.

Nursaw was ordered to pay £99,845 while Quinn has to pay back £68,272.

The pair were among four people sent to prison and one sentenced to community service in November for their roles in attempting to smuggle cocaine and ecstasy into Jersey from Liverpool.

They were caught in Operation Elf – a joint operation between the Jersey Customs and Immigration Service and Merseyside Police.

Nursaw had been jailed for nine years, and Quinn had been sentenced to nine-and-a-half years.
